From Sumatran Rainforest to York Walls: Why I Created My Brand!

Hey everyone!

Ever wonder where cool ideas come from? For me, it all started in my amazing hometown: York, England! This place is like stepping into a time machine. Everywhere you look, there are incredible old walls, winding streets, and stories whispered by the stones. Living in such a beautiful and historic city definitely sparked something in me.

But there's another big part of who I am that plays a huge role in my brand: my Sumatran roots! My dad is from Sumatra, a stunning island in Indonesia known for its incredible rainforests, vibrant wildlife, and lush landscapes. Growing up, I always felt a pull towards nature, like it's where I truly belong. I dreamt of towering trees, lush mountains, colourful flowers, and maybe even a cheeky monkey or two! This love for the natural world is a massive inspiration for all the prints and designs you see in my brand.

So, how did these two worlds – the ancient city of York and the wild beauty of Sumatra – come together? Well, I've always been a bit of a maker. That's all thanks to my awesome grandparents! From a young age, they had me getting creative. My grandma was a crafting wizard! She taught me to knit, crochet, and even sew when I was about seven years old. 

My grandpa is super talented too! He loved working with wood and creating beautiful stained glass pieces. Being surrounded by all that creativity definitely rubbed off on me. I learned the joy of making something with my own hands, of turning an idea into something real and tangible.

So, when I thought about creating my own brand, it just felt natural to combine all these things that are important to me. I wanted to bring a little bit of York's timeless beauty and the vibrant energy of nature into the things I create. That's why you'll often see nature-inspired prints and designs, things that remind me of the forests and incredible creatures of Sumatra, but with a touch of that classic York charm.

My brand is really a little piece of my heart, a way to share the things that inspire me every day. It's about the beauty I see around me, the connection I feel to nature, and the joy of making something special.
