A Forest of Stars

Handprinted original linocut print of a forest skyline below a starry sky.

The design is inspired by the Douglas Fir trees of Scotland in a Winter-themed setting. After driving through the Scottish countryside and falling in love with its beauty, I wanted to create something simple but beautiful to remind me of our visit.

The print is made by hand carving the design into linoleum using traditional Japanese printmaking tools, rolling oil-based ink onto the lino and taking an impression onto paper. The paper is premium handmade paper in a blue/grey colour which is heavyweight at 350/400gsm. Note that the 'Blue/Grey' option for this print is a slightly darker shade and the blue is slightly stronger.

Each print is editioned and signed as part of a limited edition run of nineteen prints. This is the third edition.

This piece was created and designed by printmaker Sophia Luna in her home studio in the historical city of York.

Please bear in mind that each piece is printed by hand and therefore will vary slightly.

All prints are posted in heavy duty parcel tubes/envelopes to ensure they are protected throughout transport.
