Tidal ii

Handprinted original linocut print of Japanese style wave texture, printed in a beautiful teal colour.

This print is the first in my 'textures' series. There are other colour ways of this print available in my shop so make sure you take a look! This edition has a teal coloured background with the waves overlayed in white.

The print is made by hand carving the design into a linoleum block using traditional Japanese printmaking tools, loading oil-based ink onto the block and taking an impression onto paper by passing it through an etching press. The paper is heavyweight, natural coloured Fabriano printmaking paper.

Each print is editioned and signed as part of a limited edition run of thirty-six prints. This is the third edition.

This piece was created and designed by me, printmaker Sophia Luna, in my home studio in the historical, walled city of York.

Approximate Sizes:
Print: 4x4 inches (10.2 x 10.2 cm)
Paper: 5x5 inches (12.7 x 12.7 cm)

Please bear in mind that all colours are hand-mixed and each piece is printed by hand. Each print will therefore vary slightly in colour and size. No two prints are the same!

All prints are posted in heavy duty parcel tubes/envelopes to ensure they are protected throughout transport.
